New unit & running Beta .28 due to the file manager function I like (even though its not yet ready for prime time per a previous post).
Anyway, I am trying to get NeuroCast to work. Have followed instructions to the letter and then have experimented a bit. No dice. the unit says that its playing an MP3 on 107.1MGZ, but it is not actually broadcasting. Do I have a defective unit? Also, I can not figure out how to manually set the broadcast freq. Instructions just do not seem to be clear, or I am missing something.
Help is appreciated.

Dan

you can change the brodcast freq the same way you would change the volume if you were listening through headphones (up/down on the joystick). try finding a station with no other signal to see if its working right. 107.1 probably has too much other crap on it to get the neuros signal in.

I have the same problem. I have a brand new unit as well. It also tries to broadcast to 107.1FM with no avail. Until now i was just attributing it to me being in center city philadelphia. I just figured all the available stations are saturated and that ones that arent have bleed over from other channels.

I am in the King of Prussia area and 91.3 works good for me.

When I first use the Autoscan option mine came up with 107.1 as well. I went thru the FM band and found a clear frequency. Then set my Neuros to that frequency, which is 104.3, and everything works great. I have found that the higher up in the FM band the better. I first tried a clear frequency at the bottom of the band and was getting alot of static, but that changed when I went higher in the FM band. The main this is to find a clear frequncy and use it. 107.1 just happened to be occupied by a station here. Hope this helps.

PS - guttrhead is right in what he says about setting the frequency manually. My manual says to do the same thing and it works.

Wow; same thing!! I just got my Neuros II (after being the proud owner of a Neuros I for three years until the hard drive crashed) and the autoscan also ended up at 107.1, but no broadcast.

I'm a half hour on the Jersey side of Philly and used to use my Neuros I at 99.7, I believe. Maybe I'll try that in the car on the way home from work today.

Is there something about the 107.1 frequency that prevents it from working?

I think that's just the upper limit of the autoscan, and it stops there if it doesn't find an "empty" frequency. I got the same thing (107.1 had some distant-but-audible station on it), but I just hand-tune it to a suitable frequency now. I also have to pick new frequencies when driving around the state in my car listening, but I can generally find an empty one on the car's radio, then just use the up/down joystick on the Neuros to change its frequency to the one I found, and it all works great.
