I just got a Neuros and I was wondering if it was possible to get rid of old listings from showing up on the player. I have a folder called newmusic that I did a drag and drop onto the HD. Well, when I got the Neuros it already had some videogame music installed on it. I decided to delete those tracks last night finally. I went directly onto the HD from windows, deleted the tracks from the MUSIC folder. I resynced using NSM w/orphaned track checked (10 syncs w/o checking that made for some tense moments!). Now I have (2) of all my new music listed even though windows says that there is only (1) copy on the Neuros right where I put it. Also, all the old videogame music is still listed on my Neuros (luckily won't play because the Neuros can't find it!). I don't know what the videogame tracks that I deleted are called as I just deleted weird sounding stuff from the Neuros (I did back it up for my nephew! LOL!) In short, I want to get rid of duplicate listings, and get rid of nonexisting listings w/o deleting all the music that I installed myself. Is it possible?
Thanks, Kelly |

Well I called support. They said that I have to basically click each individual song and remove them. This sounds kinda retarded to me. I mean there isn't an option to just scan the whole HD and see what's up there? My musicmatch allows me to scan a folder and if the songs aren't there it gets rid of the entry. I guess I'll just have to erase the whole thing. Can't stand to pick through 13 Gb's of songs. Don't know when mine will get back up there. Hmm maybe this is a feature that we need included in the software!

| I think I've experienced that before back when I used NSM. I use NDBM now. You can find it at http://neurosdbm.sourceforge.net/. You might also want to try Sorune at www.sorune.com. Either are better than NSM in my opinion. |

Thanks, I will try one of them. I just couldn't believe that it couldn't figure out that I had deleted some stuff. I could see if NSM was a program that ran exclusively off the HD on the Neuros. But since it runs from windows, I expected more from it. I think that it needs a check all files instead of just a look for new/orphan files. I figured that they left it out for speed issues, but the option should be there. I mean why not? Just wondering, does the Neuros play mp3's encoded at 256 and above? I tried to load some before and it didn't recognize them. So now I have Musicmatch reencode them to 192. I might change that to 128 for space reasons till I can upgrade the HD. Next on my list to do is to figure out how to play an album in order. Hahahaha. My tracks are tagged correctly, but the Neuros plays them in alphabetical order. Maybe you HAVE to make playlists. Found that dragging and dropping playlists off my computer was futile. Oh well! Good thing I'm a little geeky because this thing has a steep learning curve! I love it though! Today it did make me dream of the Ipod that I gave my fiance for christmas. LOL!!!
Thanks, Kelly

| 256 should run fine. I've had strange tagging issues in the past that somehow caused the file to not be added to the database. Your albums should play in order if the track tags are there. |

I know that the tracks are properly numbered (that's how I have them numbered in Musicmatch!). Hmm left me try to figure it out then...
Ok I figured it out!!!! You have to play them by looking under album and not artist. Makes sense. WooHoo!!! I'll try to import some 256 songs later on. Got to take a Cisco semester 2 test.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,
Kelly
