Since the only version of the MPEG4 recorder out right now is the woot version, and it's been discontinued, I'm wondering what feedback you want? Do you still want feedback on the version you're not going to sell any more?

Aparently nobody knows the answer...maybe further project development for the next model?

The dissapointment of poor quality lingers long after the thrill of a cheap price...

As DI ramps up 442 production, tt's my understanding from various threads here, that this site [www.neurosaudio.com] will soon be undergoing a major revision/update.
KB can correect me if I'm mistaken.

I would assume this MP4 Recorder thread remains in case anyone posted anything of interest that people currently owning the unit might like to read.

I don't personally own the recorder, but how do you two guys like yours?

Hi All,

The MPEG-4 Recorder is not discontinued. More units are coming in this week and will be sold on the site, other etailers, mass retailers and internationally.

Joe was only referring to the Woot! hardware. Personally, I think it's very minor, the changes to the hardware, and I think each shipment of product will have some small tweaks and improvements. The 442 is a different, more expensive product that has a playback screen. The Neruos MPEG-4 Recorder will remain a cost effective way to create digital video files and playback on your TV or other devices.

Kathryn's right, my post was probably confusing. The new recorder will, in fact, be very similiar to the one we sold on woot. We are certainly not discontinuing the product, it's been a huge hit so far!

However, we did make some minor hardware modifications. The only reason I even mentioned it is that the new hardware means that our new firmware upgrades incompatible with the old version and I wanted to give folks a heads up, per the Gamma program.

Thanks Joe and Kathryn. That clears things up. One more question, though: Is high-fidelity stereo recording now available on the new units?

High fidelity recording is possible on the current hardware, but not at the same time as video, which I assume is what you meant. This will be implemented in version 2.0.

BTW, I made a mistake in my previous post, the new firmware enhancements to the recorder will be available to the Gamma purchasors. Sorry for the confusion.
