It would be nice if the Neuros had a HiFi option. I have almost never used the headphones that came with the Neuros. From the comments I have read on line, nobody ever mentions the 'stock' ones. I suggest a Neuros/Grado package with the SR60 or SR80 headphones. The sound quality of the Neuros playing an ogg is awesome with real cans, but average with stock buds.

Yeah, I didn't like the stock earbuds since they didn't fit in my ear (they always fall out). I like canalphones. I used to have the Sony EX71SL, but they broke so I ordered the Panasonic HJE-50 about an hour ago.
On the plus side, including cheap earbuds makes the player's price cheaper. That's good since I'm sure most of us (this seems like a crowd that really cares about audio) don't use what comes in the box and already have our own better phones.

I have to agree regarding the quality of sound from the buds vs headphones. I flew to Hawaii this last May (a 6 1/2 hour flight one way) and prior to the trip, I bought the Bose Cancelation Headset. Not cheap, but I didn't want to listen to the engines for that length of time. I have THE BIG KAHUNA an 80GB N2 and uploaded all of my CDs for the week I was going to be gone. On the trip, with the headset and the excellent sound quality of the N2, I didn't even realize the flight was as long as it was. The beauty of the cancelation aspect of the headset is that I didn't have to play the N2 at a high volume which did 2 things; 1) it kept the sound truer to what it is from the CDs and 2) the battery life was longer. I can't wait to get my hands on the N3 when it comes out! The big question is: Can I Wait???
