Here are a few of the things that I've been listening to lately that I find amusing and quarky
The User- Symphony for Dot Matrix Printer 1 and 2 - The title explains exactly what you will hear. It's a trip to hear printers creating a listenable "song"(well at least listenable to me.)
Venetian Snares- Rossz Csillag Allat Sz_Etett - For those unfamiliar with Venetian Snares, usually you are in for a hardcore, drum and bass, electronic assault. While this album still carries much of the raw power of his other work, the string arrangements make the drill and bass a bit more accessable, brilliant.
Tipsy- Trip Tease AND Uh Oh - Tipsy produce music that is similar to that Lounge feel that was sweeping people's CD collections a few years back, difference is this does not stale after a few listens. It's an artful blend of lounge, electronics, and well placed sound effect samples that is swank and quarky.
Acousica- Alarm will Sound - If you area a fan of Aphex Twin this should impress you, since this is a cover album of Aphex Twin tracks. So whats the catch? The whole album is accousic, yep, these folks actually reproduced several RDJ tracks with only accoustic instruments! Wow!
Here is a few more artists I enjoy: UNKLE, Coil, Nurse With Wound, Koji Ueno, Autechre, Oval, Adult., Sasha, Aube, Goldfrapp...
