Looking at most of the Forums I've noticed a "failure" rate of the N2 is around 3 years of hard use. Have any studies been done with current and past users to see exactly what the failures are? Are they related to a specific piece or type of hardware, software, workmanship? This might be useful in the design and implementation of future pieces such as v2 of the 442 and the beta version of N3.
I would request that seeing the "user base" of the Neuros 2 being depleted because of no replacement in the near future, that maybe the N3 beta/gamma/production timeframe could be pushed up. I make this statement seriously because being an audiophile, it's "that time of year" that adverts are being sent out announcing the "new" and "latest" players; some of which are very nice and affordable. I just got a catalogue from Apple with several pages of iPods and accessories with a "discount" coupon. Just for fun, I typed in ‘mp3 player’ in Google just to see what would come up and was amazed that Neuros didn't show but there seems to be a ton of mp3 players out there.
How can "we" the user community assist in getting the N3 out faster and really spread the word? I do a lot with my contact with the students at school, and on the lists I'm on when it's appropriate, but what else can we do? I'd like to see NEUROS become a household word like iPod!
Just my "not so humble" opinion!
