I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. The Recorder 1 just doesn't have enough horsepower to record at that resolution. I can't really see them putting R&D; money into two physically different versions of the Recorder 2 either.
I'd get a CF to SD adapter and use it in the Recorder 2. Look for the type of adapter that is the same size as a normal CF card and the SD doesn't stick out. They are made to fit into digital cameras and work just like a regular CF card so it should work fine in the recorder too.
There also is a Recorder 3 slated for Q3 next year. It will be a completely different form factor as it will have networking, a pcmcia slot (for wireless) and an optional hard drive. It currently lists CF and SD slots in the projected specs. You can read about it at the neuros wiki, www.theneuros.com
P.S. Yes, the CF slot accomodates microdrives.
