Hi,
When watching TV through my brand new recorder 2 the image vibrates up and down, and looks as though it is at a reduced frame rate. This happens while I am recording or while I have stopped recording. This is both in NTSC and PAL. A recording made does not suffer from this. I assume this is not mormal? |

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I do still have the problem. I am a UK customer so is it possible to look at this problem over e-mail? It does not appear to be an issue with any of the connections as I have tried it a number of ways. While you maybe don't wish to publish your e-mail mine is andrewcodd1@btinternet.com so feel free to contact me.

Hello Andy,
Did you purchase the recorder 2 through a direct reseller? |

I have the same issue. But compared to the high whistle sound and the black line wandering from right to left on every recording this is a minor issue. My device was bought in UK (amazon.co.uk) and I use it in a PAL environment (and 220 Volt AC/DC).
BTW, for PSP the standard for MP4's is AVC. Every videoclip at yourpsp.com is coded in AVC and the official Sony application PSP Media Manager produces AVC only. But your device is not able to produce it or even play it. |

You aren't copying DVDs, are you? I've heard that DVDs have a copy-protection "feature" that will make the image move up and down if they are copied. However, I tried recording from a commercial DVD* on my Recorder 1 and didn't have any problems.
*A commercial DVD that I rightfully own, and I didn't distribute the file to anyone. |

No, my problems (wandering shadow in picture, whistle sound) are there for every source. To illustrate the poor quality of picture and sound I give you a sample (5 MB): http://mitglied.lycos.de/tsteinke/M4V00005.MP4

Ah, I see what you mean about the moving shadows and occasional black lines... it doesn't move up and down in QuickTime though. Does it do that when played back directly from the Recorder?
Sorry I can't be more help - I don't even have a Recorder 2, just a Recorder 1. |
