It would be helpful for NSM to support using an HTTP proxy for those of us behind a firewall. I cannot register or use MySi without that.

What port does it currently use, can it use port 80? This would get through most firewalls that block other ports.

Well in my case, the firewall blocks everything. There is a standard
HTTP/HTTPS proxy, though, which most applications do support. The
protocol is VERY easy (connect to proxy, then send "CONNECT host port"
and you're through) and should be trivial to implement, but it's
impossible to avoid...

Hi,

I'd also like to see proxy support. I'm also behind a firewall and can't connect without use of the proxy. Although I don't know how it would work, I have seen applications that have an option to use system settings for proxy configuration. I imagine they somehow use the Internet Explorer settings. I can't remember the application off the top of my head. I'll post the name when I find it again.

It has been over a year since the original posts. I wonder what that status of this is?

Now, I feel like a moron.

I assumed that proxy support was still lacking because when I first installed NSM and tried to register it kept timing out. I finally managed to register by connecting to a network without a firewall but hadn't asked to upgrade the software. Out of curiousity I tried to update the software and it asked me if I wanted to use the default proxy configuration or a specific one. I kept the default and everything worked!

Perhaps someone on the development team should check the connection code for the register form since it might not be using the proxy stuff.
