I recently purchased my recorder II and when I insert my memory stick duo pro into the recorder II everything works fine, however, when I then open up the memory stick on my computer there is a weird "TV" folder. I am able to open this folder only once. There are weird files with names that are not English. After I close the folder I am no longer able to reopen or delete the folder as the computer states that it is corrupted. Three Questions:

1. What is this folder for?

2. Should I even care that it is on my memory stick?

3. Why does my computer say it is corrupted?

Thanks

The TV folder contains video files that are higher resolution. For instance when I first got my MPEG-4 Recorder 2 I used it to record Battlestar Galactica. At first I just used the default settings. They are OK, but I wanted higher resolution. When I looked for the recording it was in the other folder: I don't remember the name right now and I'm at work so I can't check.
When I set the machine to "superfine" resolution I got a much superior and larger image, but the file was no longer in the other folder, it was in the TV folder.
If you have not made higher resolution resolution recordings I would suspect that a corrupted file is in your TV folder.
If I were you I would try to delete the file.
One last thing, there should be two files in the TV folder: one for the image and another that I've never looked at. I think it contains setting information for playback.

I have the Recorder 1 (not 2), so I don't know if I can help much, but on the "1," after I finish recording, sometimes the word "Space:" blinks on the Recorder's output for anywhere from a split second to several minutes. It looks similar to when the Recorder is recording how much free space is left, but there is no number after it.

Anyway, I realized that it is still processing during this time, and removing the card before it finishes can result in corrupted files. So my suggestion is to make sure the Recorder is completely done before you remove the card.
