sorry for the imprecise title, but this problem is a little weird.
While playing a video (divx or xvid), sometimes, the sound will turn into a screaching blurb. Hard to describe. A sort of low bass-distorted sound replaces the soundtrack of the video file that's playing. If I can, I'll try to post a sample to help hear what it sounds like.
It happens randomely (ie: not a precise point in a video file), and will last untill I pause the unit (to be honest, I haven't tried to see if goes away all by itself, as that sound blasting out of my earphones is rather discomforting). Here are the specs of some video files it has happened with, given by Gspot:
audio Codec: 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3 Bitrate: 121 kb/s (60/ch, stereo) VBR 48000 Hz video Codec: xvid Bitrate 798 kb/s
audio Codec: 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3 Birate: 128 kb/s (64/ch, stereo) VBR 44100 Hz video Codec: DX50/DIVX Bitrate: 1104 kb/s
audio Codec: 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3 Bitrate: 128 kb/s (64/ch, stereo) CBR 44100 Hz video Codec: DivX 4 (OpenDivX) Bitrate: 892 kb/s
so as we can see, it happens both with CBR and VBR sound, and at both 44.1 khz and 48 khz. At first I thought it was the 48 khz that was problematic, but other files with a similar frequency sampling (is that the proper term? not sure here) work fine.
also, while I'm on the subject, I had a movie A that played back fine (avi file, divx codec), then I added a another short movie B (mp4) to the folder that came after it in alphabetical order. After that point, any time I tried playing A it would automatically skip to B, the same way it does when it reaches the end of a video and plays the next item. Odd eh?
well I still have this problem first: http://www.neurosaudio.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7125
thanks to anyone who might have an idea and/or explanation!
