| I had almost decided on the Neuros MP3 player. But then i realized it was on closeout. Now im still considering it but would it be worth it even though they are going to stop producing products for it? |

Since this is just a matter of preference, I will go ahead and give you my opinion on what I do and don't like about my neuros.
What I like (reasons I bought it): Perhaps most importantly I like that fact that it plays ogg vorbis (I only know of 2 other players in the market that also play ogg). All of my songs are in ogg format, so this is extremely important to me. I like how it is an open source concept. If the neuros were more mainstream, there would be some awesome things done with it (I am a bit geeky and just like the concept of neuros. Neuros is very open and free whereas the ipod for example is quite closed and restricted (thought it is extremely nice and has a great design). I love how it can broadcast to any radio station. The DJ features and mic are pretty cool, but I never use them.
What I don't like about the neuros: It broke once. Support was good about fixing it though. I have not had any problems since. The battery is basically dead. It won't hold a charge for more than an hour. It is big. The firmware seems to be a bit slow. I have about 5000 songs on it. To find a single song can take a long time, and it is choppy.
I would buy it if you like geekiness and a great player. 80 gigs for $250 is a pretty good deal. I listen to it in the car and at work and always have it on random. It works great for that.
I would not buy it if you want to show it off to your friends or do sports stuff with it. I also would not buy it if you have to find a song in 3 seconds then play it.
I think it is great, but I am perhaps a bit nerdy. If you are more trendy, waiting for the N3 to come out might not be a bad idea. |

| I got mine because it is one of the few players that support 44.1k wav recording. If this, ogg playback, and the built in FM transmitter are unimportant to you, I would advise another player. If these things do matter, as they did for me, by all mean get it. |
