Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: Problems to upgrade to Arizona

Try to reformat the card, it might have some messed up sections. When the OSD scans them it raises red flags and tell the unit not to use the card for an upgrade since it could brick it. If you have another card handy, format it and try it if the above still does not work.
Also try to download the firmware again, the version you have could be corrupted.

Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - Feedback and Discussion / Re: Is the OSD dead?

If you want to be able to record, the OSD remains your number one choice, as the OSD 2.0 remains a developer kit.
If you are interested in video playback only, you might want to check out the Neuros LINK too. I have not personally used Popcorn Hour yet, but since it is based on an embedded chipset, it will not be able to play all the formats the LINK can handle (the LINK has played all the files I have thrown at it to date). It also will not be able to play Flash content (unless it is decoded and streamed from a PC).
Sorry for the sales push there, but as a Neuros ermployee, I guess it is my duty to so
Jokes, aside, if there are some OSD and LINK owners who want to comment, please to do so.

Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - Feedback and Discussion / Re: USB port is just a teaser?
|

Here I thought I had a handy device for recording and playback to/from an external USB drive (FAT). But recording to or playback from a USB drive simply stops after about a minute. When this happens, the USB drive often simply vanishes from the menus and only a reboot will make the drive appear again in the menus. Very unpredictable.
So far, the only thing that seems to work is recording to and playback from my SD cards. So when I want to watch something, I need to manually copy it to the SD card.
I have seen several other (older) posts about problems with USB devices, but am I to assume this will simply never get fixed? I am a tech geek and I don't mind tweaking and trying. But so far, the entire OSD experience has been disappointing...
Sorry for the rant. But I am curious how other people deal with this. Thanks.

Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: No color with svideo

It is likely because you did not enable the S-Video input option under settings. Go to Settings/Video Input and select SVideo. When you go back to composite, you will have to select the Composite input in the same menu.

Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: Scheduled recording freeze

Good to see the issue has been fixed. To transfer files, we highly recommend using the PC, it has much more memory and power to get this done more efficiently than the Neuros OSD, especially for big files. If you want use the cut/paste option with the OSD, do so with smaller files. It will not be as fast as with a PC, but it will handle it just fine.
Also remember to format your storage regularly enough to avoid excessive fragmentation, which could lead to issues during recording and playback (note that deleting files is not enough, only a format cleans up the storage, just back up any file you need before doing so).
