I really like the idea of this. Sure, plenty of companies have played in this space in the past, but Neuros has a history of helping the hackers “hack”, so you can expect this box to do a lot more when the hackers are done with it. For now the only question is how well will it work?

It should be noted that this runs a version of Ubuntu, and it's possible to run Boxee on it.

I have a Popcorn Hour which I got because it was pretty cheap and does a good job of playing video files. It's pretty crappy at music or photos though.

Unless this box does a bad job at 1080p then I'll likely pick it up. My biggest gripe with PCH is that the media browsing is pretty crappy. Being able to tweak stuff like that makes me think something like this can really take off.
