Title: Car Adapter Picks up Engine Noise Post by: teknofx(at)yahoo.com on March 25, 2004, 04:57:53 PM I am wondering if anyone else has this problem or maybe a solution.
When I have my Neuros connected to my car stereo through the line-in port the sound is great, but if I also plug in the car charger to power the unit, I get a lot of interference from the engine. Like a whirring sound in sync with the revving. Not too bad when idling, but when I reach highway speeds it almost drowns out the music. I'm not much on ohms and interference and all that, so this could be a limitation I have to live with. I was just hoping there is an easy fix. Thanks in advance for any assist. Man, with y-adapters for the minijacks on both ends that makes a lot of cable to tuck away. Guess I'll just make sure I'm well charged before I go mobile. or if not, rely on MyFi. Weird that the car charger helps to boost MyFi but interferes with line-in. Thanks anyway Title: Re: Car Adapter Picks up Engine Noise Post by: orion7 on August 17, 2006, 11:03:01 AM I recently setup my '05 TSX to connect my NII headphones out to the AUX input on the stero. I connected through a ground loop isolater from Radio Shack, but still had a whole lot of noise when plugged into the charger (btw, I use an inverter to go from the car's DC power to AC, then use the AC wall charger to power my NII while driving). I was only able to kill the noise by wrapping a copper wire around one RCA connection point, and connecting the other end to a bolt inside the console, near the e-brake handle.
Just thought I'd post my fix, in case the GLI wasn't working for someone else. |
