Title: 442 Wifi
Post by: pete7919 on September 15, 2005, 10:41:10 AM
I haven't thought out all the reasons why I'd want it, but would the present hardware setup allow for an SD wifi Card?

I have no technical expertise to go on, but I think that it would work.

I envision using it to do a few things:

1) Stream stuff.
2) Wireless Data transfers from my 'puter
3) Firmware updates

I would also like to do some WiFi stuff, but I don't think the SD slot is SDIO compatible. Hence, it won't recognize SD devices. Also, the SD WiFi Card would require drivers to communicate with the Gamma 442 OS.

wifi would require SDIO and wifi card drivers.  These are planned for implementation on the next generation device, but probably will not be done on this one.

Has there been thought of Ultra Wideband added?
Since this spec is designed for Home Entertainment components, it
would be nice to have 460Mpbs wireless added to it.
