I'm considering a neuros 442 as a substiture for a laptop in teaching University classes.   Typically a laptop is used to run powerpoint files.  Most of the powerpoint files are simply a series of graphics.

I want to convert powerpoint files into a series of plain jpeg graphics and use a neuros 442 with a projector to display graphics and sometimes videos in a small classroom.  

the 442 can display graphics and videos.  Does anyone think this is practical?  Is it easy to step through graphics with a 442?  Is the image quality going to be good enough?

Even better - use openoffice and convert them to swf - but neuros doesn't support swf :(

i think that its a great idea... but one of the downsides is that you have to use the stupid propriety video cable that i can't seem to find anywhere else.  

Another thing is that you have to find the best image format that the 442 will support.( for some reason the 442 will not display all kinds of jpeg files).

With slideshow off its very quick and easy to switch from photo to photo.

Before i got the 442 i was trying to put a powerpoint presentation on a dvd and use different chapters as different slides, but i have never really done a presentation on the 442 before.

Use a program called Wondershare PPT to DVD.
It converts ppt to video formats. I think the new version may support
Mpeg4.
I used it in the military to teach electronics in classrooms, but used a DVD player instead.
