Title: Complicated video/audio setup
Post by: cz1966(at)yahoo.com on April 24, 2006, 09:58:10 AM
I am trying to correctly connect to the following setup
Satellite Dish
DVD Player
Audio System
TV.

I have connected directly to the TV and gotten video but no audio. The recorder works perfectly - I've connected it to a TV w/VCR. It's worth the $$ just to have an easy way to convert video tapes but I'd like to record off the satellite also. Anyone have or know of a 'plug slot a into tab b' type solution.
TIA

Check this little unit out for solving your switching problems:

Thanks for your suggestion. Just a note on that. Everything I read indicated that this is a very fragile unit - has power problems. The fact that it is going for less than $5 on ebay would seem to support that.

Does it seem reasonable that the dvd should provide that video out and the sound systems the audio out? Also it is possible to extend the connectors i.e. make them longer so that they'll reach between components.
Thanks

I have the same unit that I paid $49 for.
I have no power issues with it.
It is older technology now, so maybe the reason it is selling for
cheap.

Buy longer RCA cables, they have them everywhere.
