Title: Cannot copy files to 442
Post by: natesneat2000 on May 11, 2006, 05:29:04 AM
My 442 seems to work fine, but after I plug it in via USB and try to copy ~300 MB TV shows, it stops about halfways and says: Error copying <file>  Cannot find the specified file. After that, I cannot do anything on it: I cannot read folders, delete files, anything. It's like the connection is just lost. Unplugging USB and plugging back in always fixes it.
I have reformatted the drive in its menus.
Thanks for any help.

Do you have the power adapter plugged in when you are doing this? Perhaps the battery is losing power during the transfer.

It doesn't work either way, plugged in or not.

are you connecting to a usb hub or directly to the computer. Are you extending the usb cable or using a longer one?

That's a good point. I have a USB hub with a separate power supply for when the computer can't supply enough power. That might help.

I was using a front-panel USB jack connected right to mobo, I will try a back one. I don't have any usb 2 hubs, but I might try my monitor's usb1.1--it should be powered.
