Title: Neuros Digital Audio Computer do not turns on Post by: a_lipatov(at)mail.ru on May 29, 2006, 05:14:29 PM I'm a proud owner of a 30 GB Neuros Digital Audio Computer - maybe the only one living in Russia. That means that I can't get a true customer support here.
Last month I had troubles with my Neuros - it freezes, didn't synchronizes with my pc and so on. I wrote to customer support servic#1091; and got an advice the same I could find in the opertating instructions book if I'd be more clever. It worked, but two days later Neuros became to write on display ERROR number of which I forgot. I wrote again from my office e-mail but didn't got any responce. So later it began work much better - it played, synchronized with pc and did what it had to do. But yesterday when I tried to connect it to my notebook it blinked with it's display twice and then immediately switched off. Since that it do not respond to buttons. When I plug in a power adaptor the little lamp in the backpack blinks but nothing else happens. So my question is - what had happened and what can I do with it? Or I have to throw it to the garbage can? Any advices will meet thankfully. A couple of weeks ago, I brought my Neuros to them, and explained that my dad and I had tried everything in our power to trouble shoot the problem. I phsyically handed my Neuros to the tech support guy, and said it had something to do with power on the backpack. That was around April 25th? or so. Today at 3:28, a package returned, containing my "fully functioning battlestation" . . . I mean, MP3 player.[:p]
I haven't heard what the actual problem was . . . but it would be nice to know. If I found out what they did, I'll definately send you the answer. I just figured I needed to post something, in my jubilation around not having to use CDs in the car anymore [8D] --No trees were harmed in the generation of this message. now I have a long-lasting virtual consultations with them nothing changed but I still hope. Title: Re: Neuros Digital Audio Computer do not turns on Post by: a280z on June 23, 2006, 11:33:46 AM Mine will blink or turn on for a few seconds, or give me an error, if the battery is nearly dead, or not plugged into the board on the backpack. This is with the power adapter hooked up. The screws are t6 torx, two at the bottom, and opens like a clamshell (careful of the 4 tabs along the top)
Maybe take out the LiOn battery out and test it with a voltmeter. Fully charged should show around 3.6-7 vdc. Anything below 3.2v is suspect. Try charging just the backpack w/o the flash unit hooked up overnight, then plug it in and see what happens. The connector on mine was broken, so it would not charge the unit, even if it seemed plugged in. So check that too (four solder points, positive on the left looking at the board from the front, with connector on bottom). When I was a kid my mom used to tell me that curiosity killed the cat...What she forgot to tell me was that it also discovered the cat, invented the lightbulb, and forged the Neuros |
