1  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: USB 2.0 Driver - Neuros NOT recognized - WIN XP on: September 19, 2006, 05:31:16 PM
Update

I discovered that after plugging my Neuros unit into another computer via USB 2.0 (which recognized it), that MY computer began to recognized it once again.  Not sure why, but maybe something on the Neuros was reinitialized.  I'm still unable to synch it with NSM however.  It just hangs in the initialization stage.  USB 1.0 still works though.  I will try reinstalling NSM.  Also, I deleted the Neuors USB 2.0 driver and installed the WIN XP (generic mass storage device) one instead.  Works a little better.

Similar problem here.

Used to recognize USB 2.0, and now does not.  What's the deal?

I've deleted all the USB drivers, had WIN XP reintsall them, and still have the same problem.  My new Kodak camera is USB 2.0 and works fine (unless it is secretly reverting back to USB 1.0).  Any other ideas?  It's weird because the device manager still thinks everything is working fine, but the device is not initialized nor does it show up in the My Computer folder.  Also, in the properties menu of the Neuros, under the Settings tab there is a check box checked that reads "Disable USB performance enhancements.  I have tried enabling it, but it seems to revert back to disabled after its done reinitializing.   Huh

No luck!  Sad

Same old thing; WIN XP doesn't recognize the drive, though it states it's working properly under the device manager.  I don't think it's the unit as much as it is the OS, but I have no idea.  I even tried switching to the Neuros DAC driver.  Nothing.

Any other ideas?

My Neuros I with USB 2.0 upgrade is not recognized by WIN XP on my new laptop.  The USB 1.0 connection works fine.  I'm pretty sure I have USB 2.0 on my laptop since it's only 6 months old.  Anyways, once plugged in the Neuros screen switches to "Sync," but Windows doesn't recognize it.  I get an icon in My Computer that says Other.  The icon is useless.

Under device manager, it states a USB Mass Storage Device (USB 2.0) is plugged in and the generic driver is working.  However, I cannot access the Neuros hard drive and NSM doesn't allow me to sync.  I tried installing the Neuros USB 2.0 driver (Neuros DAC).  No difference.  What gives?

Sorry for the late follow-up...

I did the same thing, formatted the Neuros hard drive (Erased everything) and then re-synched.  Don't know how or why, but it worked.  No problems since.

I have reinstalled NSM 3 times.  Once reverting back to an earlier version (1.25?) and then updating to the current (1.54).  No luck!

Have not tried a different USB recently, or synching just the backpack.  Will try them both when I get home today.

And yes, it happens everytime I sync.  Its very annoying!  [Sad!]

Recently, I have been unable to sych my unit (20 gig N1 USB 2.0).  As soon as it begins to initialize, after pressing the sync button, my computer instantly shuts down and reboots.  I believe the device driver is okay, because I am able to access files on my Neuros through Windows Explorer.  It synchronized fine after my last update, and I haven't made any changes since.  Its all pretty sudden/random.

However, I have been having problems with my computer and I bet they are related.  Also, I experienced this same issue when I first bought my Neuros and was running Win ME.  I never could get it to sync, so following the advice of others I upgraded my OS to Win XP.  It worked beautifully the first time.  Haven't had any major issues since, and then all of a sudden this.  Got any ideas?  Did I maybe remove a critical file I shouldn't have?

Running NSM 1.54 / Firmware 2.25.0137

Please Help.  [Sad]
