LOL, nice. You have to do the 1 + 5 thing while it's off.

Here's the last freeware version. http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/page11.html
Obviously you won't have the latest bug fixes and such, but you aren't tied to a 30 day trial.

The link should be working on the sourceforge page.

4  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: NSM Auto Install in Windows XP on: September 29, 2006, 10:06:13 PM
Shouldn't it be possible to locate the file type associated with NSM and unassociate it to NSM? I didn't know people still used NSM.

I happen to like 2.25. I think most people use the latest (2.28), but I've had problems with file corruption when I used it. Firmwares work for either the old or new version of the Neuros.

You can try to update and see if that helps. If the files still play OK and you can't fix it, you may just have to learn to deal with the oddity.

You should buy a bigger hard drive and change it out yourself. It's not difficult. You just need the right tools and the instructions.

I've never seen anything like that. What firmware are you using?
8  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Device Firmware & Interface / Re: ZOMG!! New 2.26 Firmware for N2- Gapless Playback on: August 09, 2006, 06:38:30 AM
You can browse the database much more quickly with this firmware. The only problem I'm having is every time I plug in the Neuros I have to rebuild the database. I could try switching to Sorune and see if that helps, but I never liked Sorune.
9  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Software / Re: Naming songs on: August 07, 2006, 09:16:49 PM
I would imagine that you just have to stop the recording between each song and then start a new one. I know of no non-tedious way of doing it with the method you're using.

Why in the world are you doing it that way? I've never heard of anything like that. Use CD ripping software.

If NA really did care to release the N3, it would have been done by now. I doubt it's a personal attack on former Neuros owners or for just not caring. They probably think that there is greater interest in the general market for the Recorder or the 442 than the Neuros and therefore, they can make more money. I personally couldn't care less about the 442 or the recorder and I too noticed how many other things they have made since the last Neuros. At this rate I doubt the N3 will ever exist. I recommend everyone just buy something else. There's a lot of options out there and there's probably something that will work for you.
12  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: Backpack Options on: April 28, 2006, 05:02:11 PM
That option was never offered. You didn't miss anything. There was a time that the USB 1.1 backbacks could be swopped by NA to the USB 2.0 backbacks for $60. After that time you had to buy a whole new backback hard drive and all. It was really a pretty lame policy. I've opened my backpack up a couple of times to replace the hard drive and the battery. It's not that hard and if you're careful, you won't damage anything.

Are you still able to copy files to it using windows explorer?
15  Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: New Neuros on: February 25, 2006, 10:31:13 AM
I never play it continuously long enough for it to shut down. I do get more than 6 hours of play out of it.
