The Neuros only supports single Genre tags.  I believe if you have multiple tags, it will take the first one.

It certainly sounds like a track number issue.  I have about 8500 tracks and have not seen this problem.  I'll have to take a look at this, but it probably won't be until next week.

If you're using windows, I highly suggest you try ID3-TagIT.  This is the one I use the most.  You can download it for free at:

I have a 128Mb backpack that I never use.  But no controller to go with it.

Interesting question.  You could try it.  Worst case, it won't work and you can switch back to the old drive.  Only takes about 5 minutes to swap it (15 if it's your first time).  I'd be interested to hear the results.

I am a developer on the NDBM project.  Unfortunately, since I am not an admin, I can not relese code.  I can, however, check code in.

I have been wanting to work on an import playlist function, but haven't had the time.

As for restoring playlists on DB rebuilds, you need to make sure you have the option selected to save playlists.
Options > Database > Save Playlists

This will create a playlists on your Neuros under /ndbm/playlists/.  When doign a rebuild, it will then read these in and recreate them in the neuros database.  I have been doing this for at least a year and have had no problems.  In fact, I only use NDBM for doing rebuilds.

NDBM also works similar to Sorune in this respect.  I usually copy files manually and run NDBM to rebuild the database.  It'll work with any OS that has Java support.

You can get it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/neurosdbm/
