The folks here at Neuros have ALWAYS been great, This is not their fault.. it is to me SONY. With their dedication to movie studios.. I would not be surprised if IT WAS on purpose. They would have to know of Neuros's recorder, and their dedication to OUR rights to content. Plus UMD movie sales are in the tank.. I dont know I am too much of a conspiracist. Hopefully they get this resolved.

I saw this after upgrading to the 2.7 I did it solely for the flash capabilites... Now I am pissed as I use the Nueros for my shows.. and as stated only the mpeg4 files from neuros do not play... it is weird.. other mpeg files play fine.. man I am pissed... stupid sony..
Waiting on the folks from neuros for a solution..
on the other hand it would be very messed up if this was a way for sony to make you buy their soon to be released mpeg4/avc recorder they will be selling..

I have the datel 4 gb hd.. and my recorder does not recognize it at all.. yet when plugged into my psp.. it works flawlessly.. I have 8 movies on it that I just watched. So it cannot be the microdrives.. the seagate 5 gb also does not work... I just tried my friends datel 4 gb drive as well th epro duo connector slot does not as mine, see his datel 4 gb. sigh..

I have the sandisk 2 gb pro duo and record my shows for watching as I work the graves and need my sleep. It is great.. I simply watch them on my PSP and the quality is fantastic. The filesize may make you go wow! it huge! a one hour show runs about 480 mb in 320x240  normal QVGA.. But it is recording realitime and does not have the advantage a pc does in the compresssion of the file. Now mine works great with regular cf disc.. but microdrive Cf drives.. I have yet to get (tried 3 different ones!)one of them to work. Yet seeing that you have the 2 gb pro duo.. there should be no problems. It has 6 timer recordings.. so you can catch most of your shows.. I record them watch them, then burn them to a dvd for archiving. I do believe that the 2 gb gives us 329 minutes of recording time.. quite a bit! Still despite the little quirks.. I do love the use I get out of it.. maybe firmware revisions will fix my problems as others do not seem to be having what I am going through.

Still FJ has been very enthusiastic in trying to get us some help.. which is appreciated.

any new word on any of the questions? It cannot be just the hitachi and seagate... at least i hope not the seagate as they just announced the 12 gb microdrive compactflash hd.. I could use that to record on the neuros!

Yet on a good note it truly is a great product! Just wish it would read the dang microdrive is all.

Any new word on this? My seagate 5 gb microdrive reformatted to fat32 is not recgnized as well.. this is not good![!]

To the Neuros folks may I ask what brand was used for the test?
Also to Fj.. I was readin up on the fat16.. It will only allow 2 gb at a time unelss you partition it.. if what I read was right. Still your help is greatly appreiated.

It may need a firmware update...
 much like the psp.. any version under 2.0 could not read that the 4.0 gb microdrive that  was there.. then the 2.0 frimware version hit and it could read it. Yet Neuros  claims to have used a 6 gb microdrive. I would like to be able to record on my Hitachi 4 gb  as well.. many thanks to all who are trying to help us.

reformatted.. fat 32 system.. still no go.. it shows 0 mb 0 min. sigh.. I dont know what else to do. reads fine in the card reader.. just not in the neuros..

I will try to reformat it.. I purchased the card new off an ebay seller tat specializes in retail electronics. It just seems weird that it will not even see it.. but works fine in my card reader.
the recorder sees my oter 256 mb cf cards with no problem.. as well as my 1 gb and 2 gb, and 512 mb pro duo cards with no problem as well.
It is just kid of frustrating.
