1  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - Feedback & Discussion / Re: Thinking of buying... on: Today at 06:46:05 PM
Dongle answered all your questiosn I believe.

We indeed have our hands full with the OSD but will keep supporting Recorder 2 users. We commented on the 2h recording limit quite a few times in different threads, but long story short, it is a compromise that we had to make based on the hardware and decoding quality of devicesvideos will be viewed on (the bigger the file the more demanding it is on the chipset, even for a simple playback, that is however changing as all portables are now using more powerful chipsets and have more memory). I will ask again whena new release will be ready for the R2 and get back to you as soon as I have some news.

2  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: Using it as a blackbox - is there a continuous recording mode possible? on: Today at 06:34:50 PM
No, once a card is full, the recording is stopped. The only way around this issue would be to have a big enough CF card (8GB cards are out already), although it might not be an acceptable solution for you.

3  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: DVR/PVR recording integration on: Today at 06:32:11 PM
I believe the Auto Record feature will work out fine for what you are trying to accomplish, unless I am missing something. Once set on Auto Record, the R2 will record anytime it detects a video signal and stop when the signal is off. If any Tivo, DVR user can comment, please go ahead as I don't use such a setup.

4  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: OSD cannot create video for Sony PSP on: Today at 06:26:26 PM
My bad the resolution should indeed be 480x384.
Here is my setup and recording parameters:
PSP (Firmware 2.80) on USB mode connected to OSD via USB cable
MP4 Video, AAC Audio, 320x240 (352x288), USBDisk1
I use a 1GB Sandsik MS Pro Duo Card.
Recordings made from a cable box and a DVD player.
I also tried to change the name of a file from OSD **-**-**.MP4 to M4V*****.MP4 and it worked. I put the file in the 101MNVo1 Folder.
I will try a few more things and get back to you if I figure someting else this WE.

5  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: OSD cannot create video for Sony PSP on: November 23, 2006, 11:12:11 AM
Actually, before you record, connect your PSP and put it on USB mode. Check the file browser, if you can see the content on the MS in your PSP, you should be able to record using the parameters you described in your post (I was even able to record using the 480x320 resolution). If you don't see the content on your PSP, try to reboot the OSD with the PSP connected to it via USB (still on USB mode).

6  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - Feedback & Discussion / Re: Possible to record in AVC format? on: November 22, 2006, 09:21:52 PM
The chipset won't support AVC encoding. It is a very power intensive algorithem that the TI DM-270 can not handle well. I understand the appeal of AVC, but keep in mind that you will be able to play MP4 files on a lot more devices (including smartphones and PDAs) than AVC files.
7  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - Feedback & Discussion / Re: Menu selections - are they saved with power removed? on: November 22, 2006, 09:17:50 PM
Hi all,
I was just wondering - once On-screen menu selections are made (resolution, etc), does the Recorder2+ retain those settings even after power is removed? (power cord disconnected - not just switched off with the remote).

My application would require the settings be retained with power removed, so I'd like to know before purchasing one.

Thanks

Yes it will. I have let a unit unplug for a few days to answer your question, and it does.

8  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: 2g sd card on: November 22, 2006, 08:57:52 PM
The recorder 1 does not have the drivers to recognize SD cards bigger than 1GB if I recall correctly. The Recorder 2 and 2 Plus do however.

10  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: 'Video cannot be played' on: November 22, 2006, 08:49:44 PM
Hi...again, followed all instructions, the images still show up in the video folder of my PSP but will not play.  I have gone through all the manuals and forums and begining to think it  is just me.

Any further ideas?

Much apprecaited as ever.

What firmware version do you have on the Recorder? You can download the latest one from our website (http://www.neurostechnology.com/support/support_MPEG4_R2updates.asp)
Once you have the latest firmware installed (or if you already have it) here are the settings you should try:
QVGA 30fps for the resolution
Normal Quality setting
The file will be saved under the Folder MP_Root/101MNVo1/M4V*****.MP4 (* will be numbers depending on the number of recordings you have made).
If you still have issues, email me jabadie at neuros.us

Good luck-

11  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: Does not work with scart connections provided by Neuros on: October 28, 2006, 04:42:18 PM
You mean that you have no RCA output on your SKy receiver? I am not the best to help out  on this as I have never used a Sky receiver, but is there a possibility to connect you receiver to your DVD player or a VCR and have the recorder connected to the latter?
12  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: Motorola razor v3m verizon on: October 28, 2006, 04:32:42 PM
Try the samples we have on this page: http://www.neurostechnology.com/r2land/smartphones.asp
I know that the 3GP format with QCIF resolution will work with the Razr V3i, but we have not tested it on the V3m.
13  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: Video problems on Motorola Q on: October 28, 2006, 04:15:49 PM
You will need to get the AAC plugin for TCPMP. The other option would be to use the 3GP format, just be aware that it is a lower quality than MP4 with AAC audio.
14  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: Neuros Mpeg Recorder II won't pass through signal if powered off. on: September 20, 2006, 03:27:27 PM
Yes, the Neuros OSD has a pass through mode. A lot of the requests we could not implement on the RII have been implemented on the Neuros OSD. Your feedback matters Wink

You can use squared5's mpeg streamclip. it is supposed to do a great job if you want to trimm files or piece files together.
