Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: Pondering the purchase of a Neuros II

I have only had mine for about 2 weeks... I HIGHLY recommend it. (Everyone who knows me will tell you I do NOT easily give recommendations or compliments) The only real "problem" I have is getting the synch message to go away after I am done synching from a Windows machine... Sometimes/often I have to completely shut down the machine in order for the "Synching do not unplug message" to go away...
SKIP the synch software that comes with the Neuros and go straight to NDBM (NeurosDBM) I do not know anything about sorune even though others recommend it...
I got it mainly for the massive capacity to hold my whole music collection. (1,100+ CDs) in OGG at quality 6) Have no complaints about the quality of the sound...
Other people who have looked at my Neuros are surprised at how FAST it starts up!!! (I guess other players go through a startup process much longer than the 3 - 5 secs the Neuros goes through???)

Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Software / Re: OGG Q6 playback problems

I have not experienced this... I generally listen to the NII twice a day for 1 1/2 hrs each time... ALL my music is OGG at quality 6. (I noticed that some of my tracks report problem when ripping them.)
I have noticed two or three very brief pauses in the past couple of weeks but not sure if it was a problem with the track I was listening to or the player... If I observe it again I will make a note of the song so I can listen to it for problems outside of the NII...

Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Software / Re: How long does it take you to sync?

Use NeurosDBM... It is MUCH faster and I can use two different computers to "feed" the Neuros from without it getting confused and adding songs twice, etc... I have over 6,000 OGG files stored on it so far and am ripping the rest of my 1,100+ CD collection as fast as I can. ..

Neuros Digital Audio Computer / Neuros Digital Audio Computer - I need help! / Re: Short Battery Life

I am wondering about that too... I played mine through ear pods for about 2 hrs with relatively frequent next song button being hit...
Then I went to work in back yard and used Neurocast to play through a portable boombox for about 2 1/2 hrs... (Without skipping around songs) It shut itself off - At first I thought it timed out and decided nobody was using it. But after turning back on lasted another 10 min and shut itself down...
I am also wondering how my 4 1/2 hrs compares to the claimed 9 or 10 hrs play time...

I have had my NEUROS II for less than a day... But I still can not keep from entering a review... I had 3 main requirements for a player... 1> Good sound quality. I encode OGG at quality 6 for close to CD quality sound. 2> Solid OGG Support. (I can attest that OGG files sound good through it) 3> Large Capacity. (I have over 1,100CDs and I did not want a player that always left me swapping stuff in and out to get them all to fit...)
I did not care about the 20GB packaging with an 80GB unit... I waited in frustration (for the initial 8hr battery charge) wondering WHY the docs said not to start synchronizing with PC before the charge was done)
So I ripped a few more CDs to OGG and played a TETRIS clone on it while waiting for it to charge... The next morning I eagerly went to synch so that I could listen to a few CDs on my way to work... I looked high and low and could not find the CD with the Synch software... Double checked all the packaging and just when I started getting really annoyed discovered a tiny business card size CD just inside the BACK COVER of the manual... BINGO!!! Started SW "discovering" the music on the local hard drive... (Should not HAVE to register before doing this step for people like me who are already at their limit with the 8 hr wait...) Brush teeth, etc while it builds list of my music... Come back and start synch... Slow... Estimate 3 hr transfer... (Maybe this computer is still USB 1.1) Take shower and get ready for work... Only transferred about a dozen or so CDs worth before I had to leave for work... Then it kept saying I could not unplug USB cable until it said it was ok... Had to completely shut down Windows before it decided it was not synching anymore...
Hopped in the car and hit NEUROS AUDIO -> Artists -> AC-DC -> Huh? Hello??? Earth calling NEUROS... Come in NEUROS... All buttons ignored... Disconnected player from backpack... Reconnected and followed same steps... Same result... Then hit a few different buttons and it started playing a song!!!
Hmmm..... I guess I had put it in sequential song order... On the almost 2 hr drive to work it had worked all the way to the first part of songs starting with "C"...
So FAR I really like it... I am just amazed at the ability to have OGG support AND my whole collection in close to CD quality in such a portable pkg... (I am about to test the transmit to FM capability... I was not sure how I was going to support my desire for OGG support in our 4 vehicles but the transmit to FM may well handle that as well...) WOW!
Hopefully the N3 will have a 100GB option by the time it comes out to accommodate a little growth in my music collection while still storing in high resolution... I would like to see it a little smaller. (I do not care if there is no "packpack" option with the hard drive always there because one of the little "stick players" just would not give me the variety of music that I am used to...
