1  Neuros MPEG-4 Recorder / Neuros MPEG4 Recorder - I need help! / Re: PSP 2.8 on: July 27, 2006, 03:40:53 PM
The writers over a PSPfanboy, made mention of a new way that the PSP will be able to deal with mp4s,

Did you know that you no longer need to follow Sony's archaic naming format for videos now? Hell, you don't even need to put it in some weird folder, or encode it specifically for the PSP. Any good ol' fashioned (non PSP-formatted) MP4 video will do. Let's take a look:

When you connect a 2.80 PSP, you can create a folder in the root directory called "VIDEO":

Simply dump the file into that folder, and voila! You're done:

Of course they also mentioned that files that are encoded for the PSP will have to remain in the usual MP_ROOT folder.

I of course have steared clear of 2.7 patch, having not seen a need for it after a coworker informed me of the issues he had with neuros encoded movie files, and his location free unit.

But, as the new filing format, will allow for actual names of files, that make more sense than the current file naming system. I guess my real question is will any of the current formats that the R2 uses be compatible with the new naming procedure?  I guess once someone says the patch is safe  I will upgrade and test out a few formats.

Ive been using a Sandisk 2GB Gaming Memory Stick PRO duo for recording, and a 1 GB version as well.  both have had no issues.
