I kept pushing the menu button, you know, the one that looks like the window resize icon from Windows. That's definitely not the one to press. So I tried all the rest. The test video just kept playing over and over. I found out where to make it only play once. But I still can't figure out how to interrupt playback. Sorry if this is a dumb question. I have read the manual through completely once (on the bus going home) and I have scanned it several times to try to find this information. Maybe you have to power down, as I did, to interrupt the playback.

What can I say, I read the manual first. There were some mistakes in it. If anyone wants detailed feedback on that, I will be glad to give it for the next revision of the manual. But they weren't technical errors. So far they were all formatting.

I hooked it up to my old VCR, ins to outs. It wasn't rocket science.

I had no hiss. I want to say something on that. Sometimes if you have more than one DC adapter plugged into the same powerstrip they can get into an electrical loop with each other creating hiss or hum. Sound people don't do it, or so I have read. Some adapters for sound recording devices are made with anti-hum circuits, or so I have read. I don't know more facts. An engineer would have to explain it better than me. But I do know just enough not to expect the world if I plug a bunch of DC adapters into a powerstrip together.

That's my feedback. I plugged it in, hooked the ins to outs, adjusted my video input on my VCR to see it, then flipped it back to the VCR, recorded some video, flipped it back, watched it. Then I put the card into a reader, transfered the video to my iPod, and watched it on the bus this morning going to work. Everything went off without a hitch.
