I just bought the recorder to shorten up some workflow time with posting lectures at the school. Here is the problem I am having. I will try to be as detailed as possible.
I hooked the unit up to the camera, set the record rate to 640x480 superfine. Record in fine and outputs the MPEG4. When I bring the file into my MAC and open it in quicktime there is a couple problems. The first being that after about 1/3 of the way into the recording you start to notice the audio drifting slightly behind the video (1 hour long recording on a scandisk 2gb cf card)
The second problem I have is when I bring it into Final Cut Pro (to just edit the head and tail off and adjust any audio levels) Final Cut says that it is at 10fps. I thought this recorded at 29.97/ 30 fps? Why is it coming up as 10 fps? When outputting the sync problem obviously gets a lot worse.
I know most of the people on here are PC folks but I still don't understand why this would be a problem with either system. Does the frame rate vary during the video and that's why it is seen as 10fps when it was recorded at 30? Any help on this would be great
Thanks
