16  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: File Browser: reading from USB on: October 01, 2006, 07:58:28 AM
I upgraded to the 3.20-0.16 version and found that the only way I could get a usb drive connected was to pwower down the OSD then plug it back in, then it would find the usb drive. If the OSD rebooted it could not find the usb drive.

Only other thought is that you are using a null modem cable with  the null modem adapter provided with the OSD. Just  a early morning thought.
18  Neuros OSD / Neuros OSD - I need help! / Re: Problem with the remote on: September 29, 2006, 08:45:20 AM
I did all that, several times, thought getting away from it for a day would help my frustration and then try again today. I'll let you know if I ever get it. I did notice if you go into the menu remote control screen that the text is all garbled up (Binary) in the text field for the teach remote buttons. Also trying to teach it in the menu creates a issue where I cant get out unless I unplug OSD. It is not seeing any signal from remote at all. And wont let me back out.

I used ProComm on a PC Laptop with settings of 8-N-1 ZModem 115200

Pressed x after booting and the video stream was viewed, thats when the
menu could be seen and accessed using the keyboard. After setting the
clock and IP address. I still could not get the remote to work. Noticed
while in the remote menu It hung the system up and I had to reboot the
OSD. Still did not bring up menu without using the x key after reboot.
I did get it to record a video stream and play it back using the
keyboard. So I can live without the remote for awhile. But there is
something wrong with either the remote or the program. I will try
several more attempts to find the issue but at least its a start.
Noticed the clock runs fast and avi file format did not record
correctly.

So far its typical, frustrating but rewarding
When you start understanding what others are trying to go through with
little or no documentation it makes you try harder so don't give up.
Remember its FUN!
