This is rather odd. I use the Neuros Manager to add some albums. I'm trying to redo some of the tags and I get this error that the tracks aren't found on the file system.

odd. I Explorer into the Neuros and they're there.

Now I see a part of a problem. In some cases the Neuros changed the names. An album might be called "05:22:09:12 Off" in the tag. Okay so I look on the Neuros and the directory for the album is "05220912 Off" (note the colons gone). I understand that problem.

Another album was "Akt (disc one)" and on the actual file structure it was called "Akt (disc one" (no ending parentethis). I fixed it in Windows Explorer and did a search for music on the machine and it found it like it was brand new and it works.

But there are like 20 other albums that don't seem to have any spelling errors in the name.

First off, I'm not putting these on the Neuros myself. I'm letting that awful Sync Manager software do it. Why is it messing up? If it purposefully changes the name of the file/directory, shouldn't the Manager be aware of that change?

The only fix I can think of is to use Explorer to copy the files back to my PC and then remove them from the neuros via the Sync Manager, make sure the files are deleted on the hard drive and then add them again. I haven't gotten that far yet and I'm not sure that will work.

And yeah, I'm using the newest version of the Neuros Mangager and Firmware.

I recommend Sorune as a sync manager. You can get it at www.sorune.com. While it has (imho) an ugly user interface it's gold under the hood.

For your case, it can scan the Neuros for audio files and then rebuild the Neuros database (as you probably know: if the file is not corretly in the database, it doesn't exist for the Neuros and can't be played).

You could then go on and move audio files manually to the Neuros and just resync the database. Thats how I do it since a long time.

Sorune runs on Windows and Linux alike and unfolds it's real powers on the command line (while you don't have to go into that)

Cheers,
