Last night, my Neuros II started behaving very oddly.  When I played a track, the first few seconds were normal, and then it abruptly switched to the middle of another track.  It did the same for several other tracks, but then some other tracks would play the right song, but it would randomly skip ahead (such that a 5 minute song was finished in less than a tenth that time).  Every file I have tried behaved in one of these ways.  Did I discover a hidden cd-skipping emulation?  :-)

So I manually copied those same tracks to my computer and they played perfectly, so the files themselves are not corrupted.

I tried rebuilding the database (with sorune -rebuild_full), but that had no effect.

Do I need to reformat and reload?  I'll probably try that next.

Before a reformat and reload, try just formatting the NAND.  It's possible that the database in NAND is corrupt, and you just need to force an update from the one on the HDD.

If that does not work, contact support. I had a strange problem like that and it was a bad player. They replaced it and it's been solid ever since. But try the Nand reformat first.
