Does anyone know why I can't record more than two hours of video at a time.  It segments it into two or more parts if it goes over two hours on the settings for iPod. I know that I read the settings right and it has a full 1GB CF card to record to which will let it record for around 147 minutes but it stopped at the 2hr mark. What gives?  I also ck'd the  quick setup, timer record and auto record and they are all set to off.

thx in advance for any thoughts,

Mike

The first thing you should do is check the options and make sure it is not set to 2 hours.  The recorder has presets on it that set the length that it records.  So if it is set to 2 hours, then it will only record for that long.  You should be able to set the unit to record forever until you stop it if you are going to be around to run it.  If this does not solve your problem let me know.

Well that's good news but unfortunately I can't seem to get it to work.  What setting specifically sets the length you can record for.  Like I said all the options in the settings are set to off and not set to limit the record time.  The CF card also has more than enough room on it so I think this might be a hardware limitation instead of a setting I'm overlooking.

thx,

Mike

For now, the Recorder will create another file after 2h of recording. It is to limit the size of the files created and assure a smoother playback. We are working on removing this limitation.

Well that stinks!  Hope you can address it soon.  Thanks for the great product anyhow. As a sidenote it might be worth noting in the tech specs as I don't remember seeing that and is worth the consideration if someone is using this as a realtime conversion solution.

I am using Recorder 1 for security purposes and need recording nonstop when in Auto Record ON!
Originally when I got this unit new it appear to work for more than 2 hours..
Now it will stop recording and will switch back to MAIN menu after about 2 Hours.
Did you fixed this problem?
Is there any work around?
Why aren't you listing such idiosyncrasy in the manual?
What should I do?
I have purchased three units.
This recording limit feature makes the unit appear defective.

Hello Stanley,

Here are a few questions I would first like to ask;

Have you formatted the CF card with the recorder or PC?

What is brand of card you are using?

Are you using a recorder 1 or 2?
