My "new" Neuros II is turning itelf on every few seconds. Setting the lock on prevents startup but the background light for the display flashes.

I just tried updating the firmware to v 2.28.0137. The behavior remains.

Does anybody have any idea what might cause this?

Is your unit plugged into the wall charger when this happens or is it happening at all times? If you disconnect the player from the backpack and look at the pins on the back, do any seem bent or out of place?

It happens all the time plugged in to wall or auto charger or on battery. the pins look fine.

I've also just discovered a new problem. The player burned out my auto chargers (at least I think it did). I noticed that my auto charger wasn't working (no light) and tested my spare. I saw the little red light on the charger dim and go out. Now the charger light won't (light that is).

I faced exactly the same problem. Charger burnt. Now, N2 switches on on its own after 5 sec of power down. Can some one please please help.
