Neuros won't turn on...

Hi there,

I've had my neuros II for 6 months or so and have had no problems, has been fantastic.

In the weekend I had it on a trip and was powering it from an adjustable car lighter thingy. From 7.5V to 12V it is 800mA, but it also has 1.5V to 6V at 500mA. I normally run it on 9V but if it was accidently run on another setting could that  blow it up?

It turned on briefly in the morning but then flickered and switched off and won't start again. I tried putting it on the power when I got home but it got quite warm so I took it off.

So, you have the lock in the down position.     That's been my problem several times.

Yet I've also had trouble with the physical jack on the backpack coming unsoldered.  I'm not sure if you feel comfortable opening it up to look, but that's also a possibility.

But you'd probably want to search around for more tips before doing anything that would void your warrenty/something your not comfortable with.

Haha yeah I've done that before too, it's definitely in the unlocked position.

I've opened it up to check the soldering, everything looks fine. How can I check if it's the battery, with a multimeter? I plugged the power back in briefly while I had the cover off and it's the left hand side of the circut board that heats up, the battery stays cold.

Well, I believe there are the schematics somewhere online (http://open.neurosaudio.com/extra/NeurosSchematics.zip, (and somewhere on my computer, but I don't know where) and you could probably test some points using knowledge from that.  I believe the points are labeled?  I'm not sure on that, but I think that might be your only way to discover where energy is flowing, and where it isn't.  maybe I'm just full of hot air, but I think you can at least find out something doing that . . .
