Hello,

I think I am having an issue recording TV with the Neuros Recorder 2 when it gets close to filling the SD card. For example, if I set it to record two one-hour programs, the first will be about 400 MB and contain the full hour, but the second will be about 550 MB and still contain only about 40 minutes of the show. Suggestions?

Thanks.

Hey there neo989,

No takers so far on your inquiry so this is the story as told to me by someone seemingly wise:

The Mpeg4 recording program compresses the information recieved which is why we can fit so much more on a small space.  If the AV in is simple programs with lots of studio shots landscapes etc the program will compress heaps.  If the AV is complex lots of action different camera angles its harder to compress and requires more info to be retained result bigger file.so sometimes 1 hour is 400 mb and then 550mb only gets you 40min.  I know it is frustrating but that is why life is worth living, good would not be as sweet where it not for the bad aka frustrating

If someone else knows better please correct me

Hmm, maybe... but due to my VCR and Neuros being occasionally out of sync, I have literally made 400 MB files consisting of nothing but one hour of a silent, blank screen. So I'm skeptical.
