I want to remove all the MP3s I have on my backpack and start putting on new fresh MP3s. How do I remove all the songs? I tried set to default setting but all my songs are still on the backpack.

plug your backpack into your computer. it should appear as a removable hard drive in my computer. right click on the hard drive and select format. this will give you some options, most likeley the default are ok, but you might want to give it a name. this should clear all the files off of your player. after this you probobly will have to reinstall the player firmware...i cant quite remember...

also, as another option you could download NDBM (neuros database manipulator) and click rebuild database if you would like to see if there are songs currently on the drive you may want.

When I was a kid my mom used to tell me that curiosity killed the cat...What she forgot to tell me was that it also discovered the cat, invented the lightbulb, and forged the Neuros

If you format the drive using Windows, you might have trouble using the player unless you format it with FAT32. Even then you might have problems because the directory structure and the various default files (like "serial.txt") won't be on the device. It might be better to use the format option on the Neuros itself.

To format it using the Neuros, turn it on while holding down the 1 and 5 preset buttons. This will boot the Neuros into its diagnostic mode. From there, you can choose to format the built-in flash memory (used for a data cache) and the hard drive. It'll probably take a few minutes to format the hard drive.
