hi there,
i bought a neuros some time ago, now my hard drive is borked. at the beginning it sometimes told me that it couldn't mount the hard drive, but when i dis- and reconnected the brain unit from the backpack it worked...
well, that doesnt work any more... when i turn the neuros on the harddrive goes srrrrrr CLICK! srrrrr CLICK! (sounds very bad)
what could i do? i dont want to send it back to the USA (way to expensive and takes very long, too)
any ideas? i heard the backpack has a normal laptop-sized hard drive in it, so in theory i could just replace it, right?
i dont worry much about voiding my warranty, since i wouldn't want to send it back for repairs anyway...

Sounds like the hard drive is spent. I would buy another one (I recommend Seagate) and install it yourself.

thanks for the reply :)
ive got a very old laptop with a screwed battery which sucks anyway which i could open to get a hard drive, but i think i need the ide pins to be 'free'? dunno if this is the case ... i hope the neuros will be able to use the ~4gb hard drive :) and i hope my father will allow me to use the drive... and i will have to format it, too...
