I ran across this bit of information and thought it applied here. You can convert asf to avi without transcoding with an application called AsfTools. There is a guide on how to do it at Doom9.net. I also posted this information on the Wiki

I tried that and didn't have much luck with it unfortunately. If someone does have luck with it and can share their experiences, please let mw know. It seems to make the video but the video is unplayable on the 442.
