My French isn't what it used to be, but it appears to list VGA 640x480 recording resolution in the specs / user manual. On the other hand, my English is quite good, and the 442 user manual is full of inaccuracies.

Hehe...
I'm willing to swap my Zolid for a Neuros. No problem with that.
I don't think there is an easy way to extract the firmware.
Maybe possible using that serial port that (I think) I've read about somewhere on this forum?
But it looks like the Zolid still has the same problems the neuros has.

Does your Zolid have a LOAD.BIN file on its Harddrive?
Thats the file the Commadore and Neuros both use to update the firmware.

No bin files on the harddrive.
Haven't opened the zolid yet, but it looks like (XT reports) the drive to be a 37.2GB.
Also in the settings menu, at the top right of the display there is DX 1.2.5
When you select 'Firmware Version' you get 1.2.8

The Neuros also shows DX 1.2.5 on the top of the settings screen.
The Firmware Version shows 1.2.4
When I loaded Commadore firmware it also showed DX 1.2.5
and firmware version 1.2.2

The only thing I can say for sure is that it is 'at least' the neuros 1.2.4 in there since it has the shuffle and random option in audio. I beleive those options were added in 1.2.4
My guess is they went from 4 to 8 while changing the GUI.
But the ppl at Eastech should be able to tell us if anything else changed.

Hi, i'm a new user of this forum and i wil like to answer to this question. I have a Zolid920 from ALDI-Belgium. I'm very happy with this device but i don't find anything about the Zolid920 on the internet. I downloaded the load.bin from the 442 and i installed it on my 920 and it works the same as before. Therfore i think that there is no different between the firmwareversion. Please let me know wen someone find something on the net for the Zolid-920

The Zolid920 is just one more rebranding of the Eastech ET-920
http://www.mp3ok.com/

EASTECH (Eastern Asia Technology Limited) according to one of there other website, http://www.eastech.com/english/
Is a OEM/ODM Manufacturer who develops and creates the design of the products and offers these products to customers. ODM products, once accepted by a customer, will be manufactured and sold under the customer's brand name.
The EASTECH Group now has operations that span the United States, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Hungary, Thailand, South Korea and Singapore, and is quoted on the stock exchanges of Singapore, Taiwan and Frankfurt.

The current Neuros 442 is a ET-920 built to Neuros specs that has been upgraded to a 40 GB harddrive,a few other extras and has Neuros Branding.
Eastech owns the base design and firmware rights and can sell this to whoever they want.

The 442V2 although using the same basic case and form factor will be a totally new hardware design as well as open source firmware.

This is all just my conclusions after reading messages here as well as other web research I have done.
I may be off target slightly on some specific points but I think im pretty darn close.
