I just got a brand new Neuros II about 3 weeks ago and recently it's been giving me terrible battery life. I have not actually tried to run it for very long until recently, but now that I try I can only get about 4 hours of uptime, and it was not playing the entire time (paused or me scrolling through menus). Is there anything I can do that doesn't involve sending it back or buying a new battery, or am I screwed?

Same Here. Right now I'm only getting about 6 hours of battery out of this unit... so now i have to leave a charger everywhere i go. One at home, one in the car, one at work. Just in case it ever dies while i'm using it...

I thought battery life was suppose to be 9ish hours.... I'm just useing headphones, not transmitting or anything else.

What gives?

I am wondering about that too... I played mine through ear pods for about 2 hrs with relatively frequent next song button being hit...

Then I went to work in back yard and used Neurocast to play through a portable boombox for about 2 1/2 hrs... (Without skipping around songs) It shut itself off - At first I thought it timed out and decided nobody was using it. But after turning back on lasted another 10 min and shut itself down...

I am also wondering how my 4 1/2 hrs compares to the claimed 9 or 10 hrs play time...

When my original neuros I was functional I got about 8hrs play time average. How high do you have the volume? Also, skipping songs a lot will lower the overall playtime as the hard drive has to load stuff more frequently.

Also, I would recommend that when you charge the unit disconnect the player from the backpack. This will give you a stronger charge over all. And like powderific said, massive amounts of skipping cause the HD to spin which in turn leads to decreased battery life. Have you tried making playlists on your unit to decrease the amount of fast forwarding?
