As long as you have a satellite receiver box with RCA connection (which you should have), yes you can use the Recorder with it.
You have several recording quality you can set up for a recording:
QVGA and WQVGA for playback on a Handheld, you can record 143 minutes to 250 minutes (for Normal and Economy Settings respectively on a 1GB card)
For playback on a TV, use the VGA with Fine and Superfine Quality ( 111 minutes and 60 minutes of recording respectively on a 1GB card). If your video source is "clean", like a DVD, the quality will be nice, better than VHS. If you record form a source that is "noisy" quality will be lower, but still nice enough to watch on a TV. Go over our review page, some reviewers posted clips of videos with the different settings.

VGA simply refers to the resolution (640x480), not the physical connection.

The physical connection is always via the 3 phono cables (composite video + stereo audio).

FWIW, I highly recommend getting some ferrite cores for the cables - really helped me to reduce noise on the recorded video.

Hope this helps,

Chris

The NR2 records to the PSP via the use of MS Duo memory. Not cables.

Has anyone tried the Datel 4GB HD with the flexible MS Duo adaptor?
