Hi,
I try to schedule a recording in my OSD. When I click OK, it just doesn't do anything. It just sits there on the entry screen. I exit and look at the Scheduled Recordings List, and its empty. There is no error message. I've tried rebooting the system.
Also, when I just press the record button, it does record to the default location so I know it records. However, when I stop the recording, it just locks up. I have to unplug the system to get it back. It does however have the file recorded on my network drive.
I have the latest OS and the latest updates.
Just on a side note, if I reset back to factory settings, will that also delete my IR Blaster settings and take me back to the original OS. The original OS was actually much easier to work with.

Sounds like you have a fubarred system. What is the background on this? Did it ever work? If so, what was the last thing that happened before it stopped working?
To answer a couple of your questions: There are two independent "Take me back" operations on the OSD - Resetting to Factory Defaults & Emergency Firmware Update. They are pretty much independent of each other - the first loses all your settings (including your IR configuration); the second restores the OS.
The general best advice is to do one or both of these operations - see if that helps.
BTW, you can (and should) save your IR configuration file somewhere (on the network), then restore it to the OSD system after doing "Reset To Factory Defaults". On my system, the file is stored at:
/mnt/tmpfs/mount_NAND/data/irblsconfig.ini

I never used the scheduled recording much. It may be a while since I last used it, but it did work. At the very least it would save when I hit "OK".
The lock up of the system when I hit the stop button is new. Simple recording worked fine until a couple of days ago. I used it on a regular basis with no problems.
I did a reset of the factory settings. That didn't change anything. How do I do an Emergency Firmware Update?
Could this be the result of overheating? The thing has been on a while without being turned off and it is sitting around the the TV, DVD player, and other stuff.

I have a similar problem. When I set up a scheduled recording it simply locks up the OSD once it gets to the time it is supposed to start recording and it requires pulling the power plug and rebooting it. I am using the latest firmware, and have tried it with both USB sticks and a USB hard drive, both of which work for recording just fine when I hit the record button on the remote and record manually.

Can you try resetting the unit to defaults? You may have some bad data in the scheduling DB.

As I said, I already reset it back to factory defaults and nothing changed. Is there another way to reset it besides the restore factory settings option.

I think just doing: cp /etc/scheduler.sql /mnt/tmpfs/mount_NAND/data should do the trick.

I was responding to bduares' query.

To be honest, I haven't used scheduled recording since I upgraded to Arizona. How do I go back? Maybe that will fix it.

I was able to fix this by deleting all my schedule transactions, all but two were no longer active anyway. Single deletions didn't seem to work. Clearing the list allowed me to add new ones.

Hi,
I've asked this question before, and haven't gotten anything that has done the trick so I am trying again. My Schedule Recording app will not save. I can get into the screen. I can fill out all the fields and select a save destination. However, when I hit OK. The button just flashes and does nothing.
I'm still in the entry up screen. I do not get any errors or warnings. The schedule does not save. It's like nothing happened.
The only thing I can think of is that right before this started, too things happened. I upgraded to Arizona and I redid my IR Blaster settings because of a new TV.
HELP!

I haven't seen or heard anything to suggest why this is happening, and my unit schedules recordings just fine, so it isn't an Arizona bug...
I merged the topics so that anyone wanting to respond has the whole history. (Just replying to a topic bumps it to the top again, you don't have to make a new thread.)

Would it be worthwhile to wipe the OS reinstall it completely? If so, are there good instructions on how to do that?
Otherwise, maybe I should fall back to the original OS. The scheduler worked fine on that. Are there good instructions to do that?

Reverting back to Torfu seems to have done the trick. My scheduling is working. I haven't yet tried upgrading again to Arizona to see it will still work.
