Music is indeed supported in the latest beta firmware, 1.33-1.26, and some earlier ones (but try the latest, it's the most stable).

With this, you can play an entire folder of music by selecting the folder, pressing the Xim button and select "Enqueue and Play"

If you press OK on one song, only that song will play. The OSD kinda creates a playlist of the songs you press OK to, as oyou navigate about. Try to explore all the Options the Xim button gives you.

-------You are right, 1.0 version is a stable version, if you want to play music on beta version with XMMS2, maybe there are now many formats of files such as ogg, acc, wma can't be played. Beta version added into some new function,Youtube,Image view and XMMS2,and we are still fixing some issues. If you only want to use OSD to record and play,I suggest you'd better use 3.28-1.0 version,as publish version is the most stable version we have checked.

In my experience, the beta versions are stable functionality-wise. The problems are usually small and cosmetic.

If you like to see what features are gradually added as time progresses, try betas. But if you are happy with your current stability, there's no need to upgrade.

In fw 1.00, music support is pretty poor. You notice the warning message when you try to play an mp3? A proper music player was not integrated into the firmware at that stage.

Don't hold me to is, but I believe that a new official firmware release will be out in a few weeks.

I'm with greyback, I'd encourage you to try to the beta, if it gives you problems, you can always go back to the official release.  In general, the beta isn't less stable, it's just that if beta breaks a single thing, we won't make it official.  You should know if it broke anything important to you pretty quickly.

Particuliarly with Audio, the support is so much better in beta, I think it's worth upgrading...

I am now just really starting to use the neuros as my 'jukebox' but I've noticed that my WMA files do not play in XMMS2.  Are there plans to add in support for WMAs?
