I recently bought 2 Neuros OSD devices. After noticing that no European supply was provided, I bought a US-EU power converter. I also bought a iPod Video cable (RCA).

Now, when I plug all the cables in, the OSD power light has a very light yellowish/greenish color. Not bright, just very light. The TV also does not show anything, just completely black. I only hear alot of feedback noise coming from the TV when I select the AV channel to which the OSD is connected.

I have the same problems with the 2nd OSD device.

Anyone can shed a light on this problem ?

Hey there,
having the same issue with both OSDs? The LED isn't very bright on the OSD in general. there's no way you could have two broken OSDs. So I suppose there's two possible issues, in order of severity:

1. Your cable connecting the OSD to your TV is broken or not suitable. Have you tried the cables supplied with the OSD? If you TV doesn't have composite in, could you borrow a composite->scart converter from anyone? That's what I use (am European too).

Also check that you have the RCA cable connected to the OSD "A/V out." Have you the cable connected to the TV correctly? It's possible the OSD is outputting NTSC signal, so if you get a poor grey picture, press the NTSC/PAL button on the remote.

2. The OSD power supply isn't working properly, and not supplying the OSD enough power to function properly. Have you tried both power supplies? Any way you could check it? It outputs 5V. Does your adapter simply change the plug (you don't need any 240v to 120v conversion)?

Where did you buy the OSDs from? If you had bought from a European supplier, Neuros packs the proper connectors & plugs in the box.

Hi,

Well, got the OSDs from ThinkGeek.

From where did you get the power adapters ?

Mine were bought from,

http://www.allekabels.nl/na/0/1885/Verloopstekker.html (dutch)

I removed the edge of that adapter, so that the power connector of the OSD could fit.

I've got exactly the same adapter (and had to cut a piece off too). Have you tested both power adapters?

When you plug in the OSD, do you hear it make a gentle 'tick' noise?

I suggest you recheck all the video connections. I use this composite to scart connector:

Bad power adapter, eh? You should get in touch with Neuros for a (european) replacement.

Glad it's working, now onto problem two!
