Heya guys!

Just got a N2 hard drive backpack which I'm trying to hook up to my 'puter via the USB 2.0 port.  Thing is, the cable that I bought separately to do the job won't fit the port on the backpack.  The cable I got is a 4-pin mini USB male to standard USB male, but even the 4-pin plug seems a bit too large for the port on the hard drive.  Is the port actually smaller than a 4-pin mini port?  It looks close, but obviously, no cigar.  I see that Neuros is still selling a connection cable specifically for the N2 HD backpack.   That would of course work, but is it the only thing that will work, i.e. is the port on the HD a proprietary one?  Or is the port on the backpack I got just messed up and simply won't accept any kind of hook-up?

The port on the USB2.0 backpack (which was used for later N1's and all N2's) is, in fact, proprietary.

Somewhere in the archives is a post by Joe (CEO) apologizing for said.  If memory serves, their manufacturer used the proprietary plug without asking first.

Ahhhhh!  Well, that explains that!  Thanks, Chad.  Now I'm off to order the right cable and get a refund for the one I bought!  Tongue
