I  exported playlist files  and cleared a bunch of tracks off the neuros thru the sync manager and was in the process of adding files to the unit or as I refer to it as the "f " drive from another external drive "G" . I've just found it easier than dealing with the sync manager.
Anyway during this process and going back to verify that its in the file browser selection it goes into this " I'm busy mode", which is normal I guess But this time after a couple of min. I get this ERROR: Ox2828   hold PLAY button to restart.
I did and it wants to go back to the main scroll menu starting with Neuros Audio but each selection prompts the busy mode and the cycle continues.
I tried the hard shut down by holding the play and center contrl button at the same time and it shut down but has no affect over the dilemma. I've also tried removing it from the backpack and no change. So if anybody has some input on how to resolve I'd appreciate it cause in the 10 months that I've owned this unit its been nothing short of great.

Since posting this I did some digging in previous forum posts and found this related post
http://forums.neurostechnology.com/index.php?topic=7473.msg39763#msg39763
And I did get thru the first part of the repair instruct. But I don't understand what they are referring to regarding partitions and having to remove them and re-install. HuhHuhHuh?
I'm pretty sure i got it resolved using the directions previously posted. thanks Forum. But NOW have a different dilemma, and that is after compiling, converting, and importing roughly 1800 track to the NSM. I use edit-select all , add to neuros, and sync. It goes thru its thing for about 32min. I disconnect and check the unit , this is whats REALLY got me by the short hairs ! none of these tracks are in the Neuros Audio selection [ songs, playlists, artists, albums, etc].  HELP this is where they need to be so I can have random running music of all the 1800 tracks. INSTEAD They've all gone into the File Browser selection which you can't play unless you go down the line to artist and specific track and select; thats just not gonna work. INPUT PLEASE.

NDBM is your friend. - http://neurosdbm.sourceforge.net/

Delete the old database, create a new one using the "Rebuild" option.  That should fix your problem.

Like Chad said, when you are having constant issues with the NSM, we highly recommend you use NDBM (Neuros Database Manipulator).  Its much easier to use, and less problematic.  If you do a Google search on NDBM, you will get a bunch of links, the first one is the legit link.  You want to download the 1.49 jar file.  Save it to the desktop, connect your N2, run the program, select the device path (whichever letter drive it is, C:, D:, E:, ect).  Then you should be good to go.

Did as suggested and installed the NDBM program. File path to the N2 is F and I can look at all the info under neuros audio : songs , playlists , artists etc.... But when I go directly to the N2 device and select ANYTHING under neuros audio it indicated  " no records available " . The only place that I can acsess  the info is in the file browser under music and even that has to be broken down all the way to album before it will give play option.
I do realize that this probably where the chosen playlist derives its tracks from but I have already created this and its not allowing me to access it from a playlist stand point.

Whats comparable to " import playlist function of NSM on the NDBM. Reason why i ask is because all my music is originally in Lossless format and I have to go thru a converter first  before the N2.

I'm still in the learning stage of the NDBM program but a couple of things off the bat I find less user friendly;  one the program is in the file path of the device so you can't access it unless ITS connected Huh
Having to input the file path or location  rather that Browse is weird.
The Help screen can't be minimized or brought up in its own allowing the ability to reference back to it ie.  side by side with what your having difficulty with in the main program screen.
But this is minor and less significant to my real issue of accessability  to built playlists.
INPUT PLEEEASE.

You can save NDBM to wherever, but yes, the Neuros does have to be attached in order for it to function.

The reason your songs are only showing up in the file browser is because for some reason NSM didn't create a database with all the song info in it, which is why you need NDBM.

Once you have entered the Neuros path into NDBM, you want to open the Database menu, then select "Rebuild Database".  This will search your entire Neuros for songs and put the appropriate information in the Database.

Yeah, there are many ways to do it.  One way is through the window explorer, you access the hard drive of the Neuros, drag and drop all the files you want onto it.  Then with NDBM (Neuros connected) just select rebuild database, and everything on that hard drive will be synchronized.

I've gone thru this process 2x now on both nsm and ndbm . Have on both programs 1800 track playlists starring me in the face under neuros audio-playlists-Rock one in the left partition and all the track listed to the right. Sooo you'd think they'd be on the device in the same selection neuros audio-  ooops I don't get that far before it flashes me " No records available".
Yes, did as suggested and went thru the Rebuild database entry. I just can't seem to access the Neuros Audio selection on the Device
What about this deal with rebuilding the NAND that Derek briefly explained to another user in a prev. forum back about page 7. Not to much detail was given as to how or the consequences. But this is getting pretty frustrating I'm afraid to say.

Formatting the NAND just erases the buffer memory in the Neuros "Brain".  It might not be a bad idea (especially if you're using the USB 2.0 port.)

With the Neuros off, hold 1+5, then press 'Play' to turn the unit on.  It should come to a menu with three options, NAND, Hard Drive, and Exit.  Select NAND, then Format NAND, then Revive Bad Blocks.  (Yes, it says you may lose info, but you're safe when using a HDD.)  Afterwards go back to the main menu and select Exit.  It will re-copy the database now from the HDD to the NAND, hopefully fixing your problem.

Well Chad pretty much hit the nail on the head, but i wanted to add something extra about reformatting the NAND.  Usually when the player gets corrupted, it will cause problems here and there, like if you Neuros wont synchronize, or shut off, formatting the NAND always does the trick.  Also when your player is giving you problems, it also helps too, all though if the hard drive gets corrupted, then you need to reformat the whole thing.  And when you do, it has to be in this order:

Format hard drive -> format media -> format file system

then

Format NAND disk -> revive bad blocks -> format NAND

This will basically erase everything on the drive, and refresh the player so your basically starting off with a new Neuros.

Actually, this forum works primarily because of the awesome mods.  I just help because my work is boring.  (Open a book to learn more about PHP so I can write something useful?  Get asked to clean the kitchen.  And they say I'm in IT and not janitorial...)

Yeah, its funny how things work out right.  Like my last job, i was a data entry specialist, but 80% of the time i was moving furniture and setting up PC's for my old female co-workers.  Then when my work wasnt up to date, i wonder why lol.
