Hi everone,
We're posting a preliminary version of Neuros Ubuntu for the Neuros LINK version 1.2 here, buried slightly from the general upgrade page, for those users who are interested in trying it out and giving us feedback.  You must be running Linux to test out this image; we'll make the Windows version generally available next week.

EDIT:
Please see http://www.neurostechnology.com/restore-neuros-link for instructions and download.

Can you post the dd image?
The partimage on my 64 bit intrepid is broken very badly.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+source/partimage/+bug/120497

.. at least that's the behavior I'm seeing.
Running the restore script makes partimage segfault.

Yeah, the image is made with i386 partimage which for some reason can't be restored with x86-64.  Pretty sure there is a comment about that in the instruction steps.  I'll try to put up a dd image on the web asap.

Worked fine for me, on Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex.

Thanks for the automount tip. Make sure that stays in the instructions.

Thanks for the HDMI Audio. It's much clearer, if only because it is a stronger signal, so the static is not amplified / made.I was having to turn up the TV to full volume, and some videos never did have adequate volume (Spare computer speakers are your friend, but low WAF).

1 question about the audio: Are the 5.1 audio and HDMI audio mutually exclusive?

By the way, I have ended up using MythTV as the default interface, with a session in the user preferences. That's much better for me, anyway.

Angus.

The "./restore" does not work for me. It does partition the usb disk but then fails out. Any suggestions?

Note to self... Make sure you inactivate the automount feature if you are using Ubuntu to use the cloning method. This causes the script to fail because the system automatically mounts the partition before its done. To disable the feature in Ubuntu type gconf-editor -> apps -> Nautilis -> uncheck Media Mou...

I know a lot of posts about turning off automount have been submitted.

In the next version of the script I will make it default to read the config, and turn off the automount.  Then restore the config after complete.

Thanks for the patience and input!

fishie,
Currently the image can only be flashed with a linux machine other then the link. Also, in the  changelog, it stated that packages that come with Ubuntu by default that were no longer needed were removed to save space.

The official 1.2 image is out now.  You should just simply beable to double click the "Upgrade" icon on your desktop to receive the rest of the changes.  This includes Windows and Linux flashing methods.
If you don't have an icon then sorry I must ask you to reflash.
