I am using 2.21 and am noticing some behaviors that I find odd with MyFi.
I mentioned in another thread that when you power down a unit while MyFi is on, the behavior is different if you're on external power than if you aren't. With external power, it continues transmitting for 3-5 minutes after the power goes off and the screen is dark. On battery, it stops transmitting within a couple seconds.
Today, I was playing an album. MyFi was on and, at the end of the album, I was immediately blasted with radio static. I should think that at the natural end of any playlist, MyFi should continue to transmit dead air for some brief period. This certainly seems more appropriate than transmitting after powering down.
I am hoping you'll agree that these represent bugs, or at least design flaws to be addressed.

I've noticed the first issue recently as well. This bug had been present in earlier firmware, and seems to have crept back in. I'll file a bugzilla report. For the second, I consistently get about 25 sec of MyFi silence after a track ends, which feels pretty short, but is probably a good tradeoff between convenience and power efficiency. If you don't get that period of silence, then it is a bug, but it may be helpful for you to describe more specific steps to reproduce it (shuffle setting, keypresses used from power-up, etc.). If you find a way to consistently reproduce this problem, I suggest filing a bug in the neuros bugzilla http://open.neurosaudio.com/bugzilla. |
