A boombox that you could stick the neuros into and play with higher quality than MyFi. If I had any knowledge of anything important I would prototype this and enter it into the neuros challenge, but I'm much too stupid.

| I wouldn't mind an interface dock like that for the back of my skull. All Neuros, all the time. As it stands, I only get MyFi in my fillings...telling me who to kill... |

OK, we MUST have this for the Neuros...
I propose we call it "Thump-N"

Actually, I think it would be cool if we had this for car stereos. They are already doing this with XM sattelite receivers, where you take the receiver home, and play it on your stereo, then put the receiver in your car, and play it on your car.
I'd love to be able to plug my neuros into my car, and not have to worry about cables to the tape player, cables to lighter plug, etc. |

| A universal docking station connector on the bottom of the HD backpack and/or the small backpack would do it. Then an accessory could be a universal docking station that you could wire into your car stereo or home stereo. Would require some reworking of the backpacks to provide space for the connector and also grooves to dock the backpack with the docking station. |

| Why can't you just use the headphone port as a line-out? With the proper cable, you can connect to RCA jacks this way, as well. |

| Because then you'd have power, etc. to worry about. A dock connector & dock(s) would definitely be cool. |

Wouldn't you much rather see something of BOSE style?
So what connectors would have to be there? USB 1 and the Power, line-out that's it? Cause if you include a USB 2. then the flash pack will not fit.
And if it's just for the 'brains' unit, the you have 256Megs max. I'd love to hear input on this. I was thinking of something compact myself in the style of 'creative' mini speakers.
Which brings me to my old question... can line-in be used as line-out via a change in the FW? or will the HW not allow it (resistors or something)

For those who simply can't wait for someone to design this item, you can make a docking boombox yourself. I made one long ago for a minidisk player I had. Most of it is super obvious (speakers, wire, jacks...). The missing ingredient is the ability to make a custom hard plastic sleeve for the Neuros (like the ipod boombox referance above).
It's really easy. I used a piece of cardboard, cut and fit and taped together with scotch tape until I was happy with the design, then coated it with fiberglass (any autoparts store), no mesh needed, just the fiberglass resin and hardener. It dries into an extremely durable candy shell which readily accepts sanding and paint. I used it for years with no cracking or anything. (helpful hint: unless you like having candy coated hands, wear gloves while using fiberglass). You can also drill it for jacks and wires. Or, if you want something stronger (like to hold the speakers themselves) use a coathanger inside the cardboard for structure.. |

Just a terminology nit.. you did *not* make it from fiberglass if you didn't use the mesh. You just made an epoxy box reinforced with cardboard instead of the more conventional materials like carbon fiber, glass fiber, kevlar.
